Trusted Aircon Installation in Singapore
Quality Workmanship for Lasting Comfort
In Singapore's tropical climate, a reliable air conditioning system is essential for comfort. But a well-functioning aircon starts with a professional installation. Poor installation can lead to frequent breakdowns, inefficiency, and costly repairs. At Airple, we understand the importance of doing the job right the first time. Our expert technicians use only top-quality materials and follow best practices to ensure your aircon operates at its peak for years to come.
The Importance of Professional Aircon Installations
Aircon installation isn't just about setting up the unit; it's about ensuring the entire system is optimized for performance and longevity. Many aircon failures can be traced back to poor installation practices, such as improper placement, inadequate insulation, or substandard materials. At Airple, we pride ourselves on meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every aspect of the installation process contributes to a durable and efficient system.
Why Do Aircon Installation Costs Vary So Much?
When comparing aircon installation prices in Singapore, it's important to look beyond the numbers. Low-cost installations often come at the expense of quality. Some companies use inferior materials that can lead to issues like refrigerant leaks, electrical failures, or inefficient cooling. These problems typically arise within a year or two, resulting in unexpected expenses for the homeowner.
At Airple, we're transparent about our pricing because we know the value of quality. We use only premium materials that meet or exceed industry standards, ensuring your aircon system runs efficiently and reliably. While we might not offer the lowest price, we provide the best value by delivering installations that stand the test of time.
Key Components of a Quality Aircon Installation:
PVC Drainage Pipes
Proper drainage is crucial to prevent water leakage and prolong the life of your aircon system. Airple uses larger bore PVC drainage pipes (minimum 16mm diameter) with insulation to ensure smooth water flow and reduce blockages. In contrast, some companies use smaller 13mm pipes without insulation, increasing the risk of water damage.
High-Quality Wire Cables
Wiring is the backbone of your aircon system's safety and performance. Airple uses Singapore-made cables that meet stringent PSB testing standards, specifically Keystone cables, known for their reliability. Our condensers are wired with Four Core cables, while indoor units use Three Core cables, ensuring a safe and stable operation. Avoid companies that cut costs by using sub-standard, untested cables, which can lead to dangerous short circuits or even fires.
Thermal Insulation
Many homeowners may underestimate the importance of insulation compared to other materials, but that's a critical mistake. Insulation doesn't just prevent condensation due to humidity—it plays a vital role in protecting the refrigerant line from heat gain and loss, which directly impacts your aircon system's efficiency and electricity bills from the start. Poor-quality insulation and substandard installation can lead to condensation, and over time, moisture buildup can damage the insulation, resulting in expensive repairs. At Airple, we only use top-quality insulation materials like Armaflex and K-flex, which meet our strict guidelines. These materials have a high "μ" factor of ≥10,000, meaning they offer excellent resistance to water vapor diffusion. They are made from closed-cell elastomeric foam with extremely low thermal conductivity (0.033W/(m.K) at 0°C), which is crucial for reducing energy costs and fighting Singapore's humid climate. Additionally, our insulation is tested and includes antimicrobial agents to prevent the growth of mold, fungi, and bacteria. All our insulation is rated at least Class "0" with a minimum thickness of 1/2". For properties with high humidity or fully concealed piping, we recommend upgrading to 3/4" thickness for better protection against condensation and improved efficiency.
Copper Pipes
The thickness and quality of copper pipes used in aircon installations are critical for the system's longevity and efficiency. Thicker pipes can withstand higher pressures, reducing the risk of leaks and extending the system's life. At Airple, we use SWG22 (0.71mm) copper pipes as our standard but recommend upgrading to SWG21 (0.81mm) for maximum durability, especially for systems running on high-pressure refrigerants like R410A or R32. Additionally, our high-gauge copper pipes with 99.99% purity (Copper + Silver composition) comply with ASTM B280-08 Grade C12200 specifications, ensuring long-lasting durability and optimal refrigerant flow. We proudly state that it's probably the best in the market. All our copper pipes are PSB-tested and sourced from reputable manufacturers in Malaysia, Vietnam, or Thailand.
Beware of companies using inferior pipes. Even if they claim to use the same thickness, the composition of their copper may include high impurities (over 0.06%) and low silver content, which makes the pipes brittle and prone to early failure. If you're ever offered a surprisingly low quote, be sure to ask about the copper pipe specifications, as poor-quality materials can lead to costly repairs in the future.
Brackets
For aircon units without a ledge, the bracket is the only support holding the condenser, which can weigh up to 90kg. It's essential that brackets are made from high-quality materials and welded by qualified professionals to ensure safety and durability. Airple uses custom brackets made from Grade 304 stainless steel, certified and compliant with Singapore's regulations. This ensures the brackets are rust-resistant and capable of supporting your unit securely.Vacuuming of Your Compressor
Vacuuming is a critical step in the installation process that is often overlooked. After installation, air, dirt, and moisture can be trapped inside the refrigerant pipelines, leading to instability or malfunction of the compressor. At Airple, we use professional vacuum pumps to remove all air and moisture from the system, ensuring it runs at peak efficiency. We monitor the vacuum process to ensure the reading drops below 400 microns, indicating a thoroughly clean system.Trunking
Trunking may seem purely aesthetic, but it plays a crucial role in the safety and appearance of your aircon installation. Low-quality trunking not only looks unattractive but may also fail to meet Singapore's safety standards. Airple uses Litaflex uPVC high-grade trunking, which is fire-resistant, weather-resistant, and compliant with SS 275: 1999 standards. Its smooth, curvy edges also enhance the overall aesthetic of your installation.Does Airple Provide a Workmanship Warranty?
